Nate Furuta is chairman and CEO of Toyota Boshoku America, Inc. (TBA), headquartered in Erlanger, Kentucky. TBA is a Toyota Boshoku company and member of the Toyota Group of companies. Established in 2001, TBA is a premier manufacturer of automotive interior systems which include seats, door trims, recliners, fabrics and straps in addition to air and oil filters and power trains for a variety of customers such as Toyota Motor Corporation and General Motors Corporation.
In his new role as chairman and CEO of TBA, Mr. Furuta is responsible for creating the Regional Head Office for TBA and centralizing the Accounting, Purchasing, Communications and Information Technology departments for the Americas.TBA has 23 facilities throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Argentina; including a Research & Development Center in Michigan and its Head Office in Erlanger, Kentucky.
Prior to his assignment at TBA, Mr. Furuta was senior vice president of Administration at Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. (TEMA), located in Erlanger, Kentucky. TEMA supports Toyota's growing manufacturing operations throughout North America. He has also held the positions of executive vice president of Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing Europe; project general manager at Toyota’s Tsutsumi Plant in Japan; vice president, Corporate Planning, Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America; project general manager/Human Resources, Toyota Motor Corporation; and executive coordinator of Human Resources at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky and New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc. (NUMMI).
Mr. Furuta sits on the Board of Directors for Toyota Boshoku Global. A graduate of the University of Tokyo with a law degree, he joined Toyota Motor Corporation in 1970 in the Employee Relations Group.
