Mr. Bruce Emaus is the founder and president of Vector Cantech Inc. Located in Novi, Michigan, Vector specializes in tools and embedded software components for automotive distributed applications. Mr. Emaus is an accomplished product and business executive with over 35 years of experience covering embedded software, electronics hardware, and systems engineering. Specifically, he is recognized as a leading expert in the area of distributed embedded systems and small area network protocols.
Prior to Vector, Mr. Emaus was the founder of a consultancy and electronic product development company. This company is credited for the development of Ford Motor Company’s first trip computer, Ford's first internally created integrated circuit, as well as the creation of Ford's first peer-to-peer UART-based protocol, and the development of a distributed electronic music system architecture before the advent of MIDI.
Mr. Emaus is the chairman of the SAE Embedded Software Standards Committee and the IEEE Southeastern Michigan Section Chair of the Vehicular Technology Chapter. Both venues are focused on advancing the development of in-vehicle electronic systems.
Mr. Emaus earned a bachelor of science degree in engineering-electrical engineering from the University of Michigan.
