Mike Schagrin is the project lead for USDOT’s IntelliDriveSM program--a major ITS research initiative that supports the concept of leveraging technology to promote connectivity among vehicles, roadway infrastructure, and consumer electronic devices, to improve safety, enhance mobility, and reduce environmental impact.
Mr. Schagrin previously managed USDOT’s Cooperative Intersection Collision Avoidance System (CICAS) initiative--a research program designed to decrease crashes at intersections using ITS technologies.
Mr. Schagrin first joined USDOT in 1992 to support development of the ITS National Architecture. He then went on to establish and manage the ITS Standards Development Program.
Prior to joining USDOT, Mr. Schagrin spent thirteen years in Federal service managing technology research programs for the U.S. Department of the Navy.
Mr. Schagrin has a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of New Hampshire and a M.S. in systems engineering from George Mason University.
