In January of 2009, Norm Bafunno was assigned as the vice-president of Production Engineering for Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing, Inc. (TEMA), in Erlanger, Kentucky. He is responsible to support Toyota’s 14 North American facilities. This includes all aspects of facility development and vehicle manufacturing, specifically construction, equipment design, process development, safety and environmental support.
Mr. Bafunno joined Toyota in March of 1997 as part of the startup team as general manager of Production at the Princeton Indiana Greenfield site. During the next 12 years he was responsible, as senior vice president, for the production, manufacturing planning, administration and quality areas. TMMI’s $2.6 billion operation directly employs over 4,500 team members.
Before joining TMMI, Mr. Bafunno spent 14 years with General Motors Corporation with the truck manufacturing groups. His engineering and management experience included vehicle body weld, paint and assembly operations. His last assignment with GM was as the assistant plant manager in Pontiac, Michigan.
Mr. Bafunno is involved in the community serving as a board member on various community service organizations. He is currently serving on the University of Evansville Global Enterprise Board. His prior board support included: Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra – past president 2005-2006, Southwestern Indiana American Red Cross Board – past vice president 2008-2009, and the Indiana Manufacturers Association – past chairman 2005.
Mr. Bafunno earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University and a master’s of management degree from Northwestern University.

The seminars are designed to foster a casual atmosphere for the informal exchange of ideas. Business casual is appropriate. Others wear more casual polo shirts and slacks.
These are informal events. Attire will vary from sport coats to polo shirts and slacks (for men) and from summer dresses and skirts to pants and shirts (for women).
The first thing to do would be to find a colleague interested in replacing you. If your colleagues are already registered or unable to attend, please inform us in writing that you must cancel. To be eligible for a full refund of fees, notification of cancellation must be received in our office in writing by May 14, 2011. After this date, to be eligible for a refund of fees less the handling charge of $150.00 we must receive your request in writing before July 19, 2011. We regret that we cannot accept requests for refunds after that date.
The registration desk is located in the Governors Prefunction area. We recommend that you pick up your name badge and conference materials at early registration on Sunday, from 5-7 p.m. or on Tuesday from 3:30-7 p.m. The registration desk is also open during the conference sessions. A name badge is required to gain admittance to the sessions. Please note: badges will be distributed the day before or morning of the first day of your registration so you may attend the social hours included in your registration.
