John Corey is president and chief executive officer of Stoneridge, Inc. a global manufacturer of electronics and sensors for automotive and commercial vehicles. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Stoneridge since 2004 and joined the company as the CEO beginning in 2006.
Mr. Corey has 25 years of industry experience with the last decade spent in assisting underperforming companies. Prior to joining Stoneridge he, was president and chief executive officer and director of the Safety Components International, a leading low-cost supplier of airbags and components, with worldwide operations. He was responsible for the restructuring of the company operationally, financially and opened their first China operation expanding their global capabilities.
Mr. Corey has also served as president of Stanley Mechanics Tools, Inc., a division of The Stanley Works servicing the automotive industrial and retail markets. He began his automotive career at Ford Motor Company as an analyst in the new car development group and has held leadership positions at Moog Automotives as president of the Steering and Suspension division and Allied Signal’s Aftermarket division.
Mr. Corey currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Motor Equipment Manufacturers Association, and is the chairman of the Original Equipment Suppliers Association. In addition, he is the chairman of the board of Haynes International a specialty metals manufacturer.
Mr. Corey graduated from Sacred Heart University with a B.A. in accounting and received his master’s in business administration from George Washington University.
